Clive Lipshitz brings extensive experience solving complex problems and building businesses for a range of investment firms.
Through Tradewind Interstate Advisors, Clive has been engaged on a range of strategic projects for organizations as diverse as AECOM (one of the leading engineering firms globally); private market investment firms, Actis, Carlyle, and Hunter Point Capital; Triple Five (a closely held diversified real estate business); the Marron Institute (an NYU-affiliated think tank); and the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research, among others. Using research-informed decision-making and strong project management skills, Clive solved problems facing each of these organizations.
Previously, reporting to the CFO of CSFB, he was responsible for Strategic Change Management and then established and was Head of the Strategy and Product Development groups at both Credit Suisse Alternative Investments and Brookfield, and Head of Capital Markets at iCapital. In these roles he oversaw development of more than 30 new investment businesses and funds across all alternative asset classes.
Earlier in his career, Clive oversaw deal evaluation for proprietary fintech investments in the Office of the Chairman at PaineWebber and was a CPA at Price Waterhouse.
Clive has been a guest scholar at NYU Stern where he has authored original research on pension funds and infrastructure finance. He has coauthored a book on this topic and his work has appeared in peer-reviewed finance journals and in a range of financial and general media (including the WSJ, Institutional Investor, Pensions & Investments, MarketWatch, The Bond Buyer, and The Hill). He frequently presents at investment conferences to asset owners and asset managers.
Clive has substantial international experience having lived and worked in Israel, Hong Kong, and South Africa, and on projects across Latin America and Europe. He has an MBA and BA from Tel Aviv University. He and his family have visited 48 U.S. states on road trips.
